Record for Izzy, but Bravettes fall

SIGOURNEY – Izzy Roorda set a new single season school record for digs during the match, but the Bravettes couldn’t get past Sigourney in varsity volleyball action on Thursday evening, Sept. 28.

Sigourney won the match 3-1, on scores of 25-20, 23-25, 30-28 and 25-15.

During play, Roorda came up with her 324th dig of the season.

The loss dropped the Bravettes to 6-14 on the season.

Sigourney rose to 10-5.

Montezuma’s junior varsity team was a 3-0 winner over Sigourney. Scores were 21-16, 21-12 and 15-10.

In freshman action, Sigourney beat the Bravettes 2-1. Scores were 21-11, 19-21 and 17-15.

Montezuma hosts Belle Plaine on Monday, Oct. 2.
