Senior Kallie Robison pitched a gem, and the Bravettes experienced a .500 regular season – quite an improvement over last year – after a 3-1 win over Tri-County on Tuesday, June 27 at home.
The win lifted Montezuma to 12-12 on the year. Last season, the Bravettes finished at 10-17, which included post-season play. This Montezuma team starts its post-season on Friday, June 30.
Tri-County defeated the Bravettes 6-3 when the teams met June 9 in Thornburg.
On Tuesday, Tri-County scored its run in the first inning and Robison shut down the Trojans after that.
Kallie pitched all seven innings, scattered four hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out two. The run she gave up was unearned.
Montezuma tied the game with a run in the fourth, then plated two in the fifth.
Madison Van Zee went two-for-three at the plate for Montezuma, with a run batted in and a stolen base.
Ellen Cook had one hit, and Jordan Ranfeld stole a base.
Delanie Little was the tough-luck loser in the circle after yielding just three hits. Just one of the three runs scored by the Bravettes was earned.
Little walked one and struck out four.
Tri-County fell to 10-9 on the season.

WEDNESDAY GAME CANCELED – Montezuma was to have hosted East Marshall on Wednesday, June 28, but activities director Tim Burgess announced that game was canceled.
