Senior Garrett Watts is Montezuma’s latest all-state football playear.
Watts is a first team all-state wide receive and tight in on the Class 8 team named Thanksgiving Day by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association.
Watts caught 43 passes for 839 yards (19.5 yards per catch), and 15 touchdowns during Montezuma’s season. His long catch was 72 yards.
Although named for his offense, Watts was the Braves’ third leading tackler with 43 stops, 29 of them solo. He had 4.5 tackles for loss.
The 6-foot-3 athlete is now on the Braves’ basketball team.
