PANORA – On Saturday, April 20, the boys golf team traveled to Lake Panorama National Golf Course to compete for the fourth year in the Hal Rossow 18-Hole Invite.

Teams varied across classes and the Montezuma boys came out in 5th place out of 9 teams.

At tee-off the wind was blowing from the north/northwest and the feel -like temperature was around 37 degrees.

The course boasts sand traps and water, in addition to beautiful mature trees on almost every hole making it a challenge for golfers of all abilities.

The greens are sloping and large, allowing for a large landing area but also creating potential for some putts over 40 feet.

Despite the ugly weather conditions, the boys gave their best in focus, effort, and skill and each found quite a number of things to celebrate throughout the round.

At the end of the round the sun had just started to peek out and the wind was a couple mph decreased in strength.

Cruz DeJong did well over the course and placed 4th overall with an 80.

It was great to see Jack Erselius come in under where he’s been previously this year and he put up a good score also.

Cruz De Jong was the fourth-place individual at the Hal Rossow golf meet at Lake Ponderosa National Course.

It’s also important to see the boys recovering after a bad hole or two and getting back on track and that was evidenced in each one throughout the round.

We appreciate being able to go to this meet for the challenges it presents in length, course hazards and teams attending.

Cruz DeJong 80
Jack Erselius 84
Max Anderson 90
Carson Van Der Hart 114
